Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how the EasyTech College platform (the “Platform”) collects, uses, and protects personal information when you use the site and its services.
This policy applies to all users of the Platform: students, teachers, and visitors.
By using the Platform you agree to this policy. We may update it from time to time; any material change will be published on this page, and your continued use of the Platform after a change constitutes acceptance of it.
- Information we collect when you create an account: name, email address, phone number, date of birth, gender, address (optional), and profile details (such as a student’s education level or a teacher’s bio, experience, and qualifications). From teachers we also collect a national ID number, which is needed to verify their identity with the payment provider.
- For teachers, we collect verification documents (such as proof of identity, certificates, and tax documents) for the purpose of reviewing and approving the application to teach. These documents are kept in private storage and are never displayed publicly.
- We collect Platform usage data: bookings and schedules, lesson attendance records, ratings and written reviews, messages exchanged between a student and a teacher — both inside a lesson and in the ongoing conversation between them — the contents of the shared whiteboard, uploaded learning materials, and any abuse reports.
- Payments are processed by external payment providers (PayPal and PayMe). We do not store card numbers on our servers; we keep transaction records (amount, date, status) and the teacher’s payout details (such as a PayPal email address or a PayMe seller id).
- We automatically collect limited technical data such as IP addresses and server logs, for security, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting purposes.
- We do not place cookies on your device. We use browser local storage for operational purposes only: keeping you signed in, remembering your language preference, saving form drafts, and recording your choice about analytics. These uses are necessary for the site to work.
- We use Google Analytics 4 to measure how the site is used and to improve it. It runs only after your explicit consent: if you decline, none of its code is loaded and no data is sent. We do not use it for advertising, and advertising signals are permanently disabled. You can change your choice at any time from the “Privacy settings” link in the footer.
- We use Sentry to monitor technical faults. It is configured to send no personal data at all: no user identity, email address, IP address, or request contents — only the error itself and the page path. This data is stored in the European Union region.
- The site offers a control that translates a teacher’s bio and teaching methodology into your language. When it is used, the teacher-written text is sent to Google Translate. No student-written text and no lesson content is ever sent.
- We use the information to operate the Platform and provide its services: managing accounts, connecting students with teachers, processing bookings and payments, sending operational notifications and emails (such as booking confirmations and email verification), providing support, and meeting legal requirements.
- We rely on external service providers to run the Platform, each processing only the minimum data it needs: Google Firebase (sign-in and authentication), PayPal and PayMe (payments), Agora (video and audio sessions), Backblaze B2 (file storage and backups), SendGrid (email delivery), Sentry (fault monitoring), Google Analytics (measurement, with your consent), and Google Translate (on-demand translation of teacher-written text).
- We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with any party for marketing purposes.
- A teacher’s public profile (name, photo, bio, subjects, prices, ratings, and the introduction video if they added one) is visible to Platform visitors and to search engines by the nature of the service. A student’s information is visible only to the teachers they work with, and only to the extent needed to deliver lessons — with two exceptions: if a student writes a review of a teacher, their display name and photo appear beside that review on the teacher’s public page; and if they explicitly consent to publication, their review of the Platform itself may appear on the home page.
- We keep data for as long as the account exists; after it is closed we retain only what legal and accounting obligations require (such as financial transaction records), and only for as long as necessary.
- We take reasonable security measures to protect data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access restrictions, and private storage for sensitive documents. That said, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
- You may access your personal data and request its correction or deletion by contacting us at the email address below. We may retain data that the law requires us to keep.
- The Platform may be used by students who are minors. Creating and using an account for a minor requires the consent and responsibility of a parent or guardian, and we collect from minors only the minimum needed to provide the service.
- Data may be processed or stored on servers outside your country of residence by the service providers listed above, while we maintain the level of protection described in this policy.
- For any privacy-related question or request, contact us at the email address below and we will respond as soon as possible.
- Introduction video: a teacher may record a short introduction video in the browser or upload a file. Our staff review the video before it is published; it is kept in private storage (Backblaze B2) and served through short-lived links, while its still poster frame is public. Once approved it appears on the teacher’s public page and in the tutor directory. The teacher may replace or delete it at any time; a replaced or deleted video is removed from storage immediately, rejected uploads are deleted within thirty days of the decision, and the video is deleted for good when the account is deleted.
- Lesson recording: we automatically record the audio and video of every lesson held through the Platform — including the camera picture and anything shared on screen during the lesson — to keep participants safe, to handle complaints and disputes, and for quality and support purposes. A notice is shown inside the lesson room. Recordings are held in private storage accessible only to authorised staff and are deleted automatically after thirty days. A tutor’s solo camera-and-microphone test session is never recorded.
All email notices should be sent to:admin@easytech.college
